What have you been telling yourself today?<\/p>\n

Take a moment and think about what you\u2019ve been thinking.<\/p>\n

Now, remember a dear friend or loved family member.<\/p>\n

Would you say the things to them you\u2019ve been thinking about yourself?<\/p>\n

Some years ago, I was asked this question when I needed help getting through a difficult time.<\/p>\n

I had been berating myself for all my mistakes and weaknesses, and there appeared to be many in my eyes. In fact, that\u2019s all I could see about myself.<\/p>\n

When I thought of saying to my friends the things I was saying to myself, I was horrified. \u201cI would never say those things to them!\u201d<\/h3>\n

When asked why, I replied. \u201cBecause it\u2019s unkind and just not true!\u201d<\/p>\n

In that powerful moment, I realized the damage I had been doing to myself.<\/p>\n

When we believe untrue thoughts, we lose our ability to experience joy.<\/h3>\n

Can you see the importance of recognizing and living in truth? Of thinking correctly?<\/p>\n

Recognizing untrue thoughts then becomes a powerful tool to restoring emotional health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Remember, if you wouldn\u2019t say it to a friend, or about a friend, then please don\u2019t ever say it about yourself!<\/strong><\/p>\n
