{"id":2351,"date":"2020-12-21T05:30:38","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T12:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.melaniebnewman.com\/staging\/9944\/?p=2351"},"modified":"2022-04-18T14:12:53","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T20:12:53","slug":"christmas-symbols-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.melaniebnewman.com\/staging\/9944\/christmas-symbols-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Symbols"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I was growing up, my father would often point out signs to be found in nature.<\/p>\n<p>I loved these mini-lessons that came so naturally to him.<\/p>\n<p>-Constellations of stars reflecting the seasons by their movement through the night sky.<\/p>\n<p>-Ring of light around the moon signaling rain or snow tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>-Various colors of rock layers in mountains telling of past natural formations.<\/p>\n<p><i>My Favorite Lesson<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I especially enjoyed learning about the night sky.<\/p>\n<p>My dad taught me how to find the North Star.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Though it is not the brightest star in the night sky, it is a constant, which all the other constellations revolve around.<\/p>\n<p>The North Star can be a valuable tool to find your direction when lost.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>But only if you choose to seek and to follow.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There is another star that though we no longer see it, leads us to something much more constant than the North Star.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Most Important Lesson<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Star of Bethlehem led the way to find the Christ child.<\/p>\n<p>As we ponder the symbolism of the Star of Bethlehem, we realize <b>that star can lead us to the risen Lord.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>But only if we choose to seek and then follow.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>The Trappings of Christmas<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The trappings of Christmas can become a trap of rushing here and there, and losing sight of the meaning of Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>OR<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>we can see the symbols of Christmas and let them become reminders of Christ.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Recognizing the Symbols<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I encourage you to look for the symbols of Christmas.
