It agitates and makes me feel cranky and irritable. In fact, I do all I can to avoid being out in such weather.<\/p>\n<p>But this day the wind seemed to have no effect on my well-being.<\/p>\n<p>I was quite content to work in my garden.<\/p>\n<p>I<b> considered my unusual reaction to something I normally avoid,<\/b> and immediately recognized the reason.<\/p>\n<p>I had just completed a two-day refresher course for my SimplyAlign energy work.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I had been uplifted, strengthened and fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>The insight I received was that <b>what was going on inside me had strengthened me against what was going on outside me.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The previous two days had fortified my mind and spirit. I felt impervious to external issues or problems.<\/p>\n<p>Yet I knew that the raised spirits would only carry me so far.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What happens in-between those uplifting events?<\/p>\n<p>What can we do to avoid emotional depletion?<\/p>\n<p>I have found that <b>daily supportive habits can be as strengthening as depending on big events or outside functions.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Consider the following questions to create your individualized special response.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>*Do you take the time to be still and prepare yourself for the day?<\/p>\n<p>*Do you have a strong connection with God and do you connect with Him daily?<\/p>\n<p>*Do you forgive yourself and others and allow those burdens to be eased?<\/p>\n<p>*Do you know the power of your mind and are you developing skills to manage your thoughts for your good?<\/p>\n<p>What would you add to this list of inner strength building practices?<\/p>\n<p>It is comforting to know that when we fill our inner vessels with truth and light, we increase our ability to withstand the external pressures that may swirl about us.<\/p>\n<p>Like the little drops of a rain shower that gather and collect, create a small stream, and then produce a mighty river, the daily efforts to fortify and strengthen your mind and spirit will produce the ability to withstand any buffetings of emotional distress.<\/p>\n<p>Much love,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-462\" src=\"https:\/\/www.melaniebnewman.com\/staging\/9944\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/signature.png\" alt=\"Melanie Newman\" width=\"223\" height=\"73\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I was recently cleaning out a grass-filled flower bed, to my surprise, I felt happy despite the windy weather.
